Few Quotations I like
"Life is not the number of breaths you take, but those moments which take your breath away".
This is the a statement which Will Smith says in the opening of the movie "Hitch". Its been some time since I have seen this movie but this statement has been etched ever since. Its amazing how 28 years have just went pass and then when I recollect my life most of the moments which I recollect are the those which did take my breath away.
"You do not love people because they are beautiful, they seem beautiful to you because you love them"
How true is this statement !! I came across this in my 4th grade English reading. It talked about a story where a small girl gets lost and then the villagers ask her "Who is your mom ?". She replies by saying "My mom is the most beautiful woman in the world". For that the villagers call upon all the beautiful women in the village but her mother is not found. Eventually they do find her mother but she by appearance was not beautiful but to the little girl her mother was the most beautiful woman in the world and thats what the above quotation signifies.
"We can be dragged along by change, or we can be the change"
This I read very recently in one of my fellow blogger Taqdeer's Blog. And it really made me think. Today I feel, I am moving in the direction which is laid by others and there are times when I wish the system would be different, but I sit back and wait for some one to come and change the system, rather than doing that myself. So as of today I feel "I am dragged along by change" but I hope and I am sure some day I will gather courage to be the change.
"Its better to try and fail, rather than not trying due to fear of failure"
I do not know if I have eactly reproduced the statement as I had read it but I have just put it across in the form I remember it. This is very much linked to the above quotation. There are so many things I want to do and I am sure some day I will make an attempt at those, so that down the line when I sit back I will be content that I gave it a shot rather than feeling sorry that I did not do something that I wished all my life.
Well those are some of the quotations I like. If you folks come across and read this post do put in your favourite quotes and the reason why you remember them. I am sure there will be always something new that will stir the soul in me.

If its hot..its has to be Mirchh
Mirchh is a very amazing idea. This website allows users all over the Globe who are interested to know whats happening in India, to get hold of the headlines.
I was surprised to see one of my postings (Competition in ad world) as a part of the website. This website, it seems to me is at a very nascent stage, because, soon it may need to categorize news so that we as users may acess or post accordingly, but at the same time its a great start.
Its very simple to use, just register and post. Depending on the mirch's you get your article may move into headlines. Also it avoids going to different website, clicks , pop-ups and gives you all news pertinent to India in one location
So all the people who like to read, write or access news happening in India, its time to get going.

Google in Black..Blackle

I came across a very interesting post ion Treehugger http://www.treehugger.com which talks about Blackle, Google's Energy Saving search. I am sharing the column here in my blog. You can access the post here.
This is what the article says:
" few months ago, TreeHugger Mark Ontkush wrote a post on his blog EcoIron titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year. The post lays out the following train of thought. “An all white web page uses about 74 watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59 watts.” Google, which has a white background and gets about “200 million queries a day” could reduce global energy use by 750 Megawatt-hours a year by simply changing the color of its homepage to black. (For more detailed calculations and assumptions check out the original post here.)
In response to this post a black version of Google emerged called Blackle.com. According to Blackle’s homepage at publication time, 4,408.917 Watt hours have been saved by. The site encourages users to “make a difference today [by] … Blackling "energy saving tips" or visit[ing] treehugger.com a great blog dedicated to environmental awareness.” Nice ideas. But how does the search measure up? Very well indeed. Give it a whirl yourself and start saving energy one search at a time."
Well I definitely gave it a whirl and will continue to do so, in an attempt to serve energy.

It happens only in India
David Blake, David Copperfield, Houdini...Do you think these are the biggest illusionist of all time. No way, check out this article about a Boeing 737 which was abandoned in Chembur, Mumbai seven days when a driver took a wrong turn. This plane after being abandoned for more than a week just disappeared overnight to the dismay of the people who would come for a free tour to the Boeing on a regular basis.
Well..Now you see..now you don't ..that's how we do it in India.

Wi-Fi theft ..the Hi- Fi way !!!
Today's BBC carries a column on Wi-Fi theft incident. I found it very amusing and hilarious too. Well then obviously the only thing that comes to the mind is that it takes all kind to make this eventful world of ours.
Lets Jigg it...
The brilliant concept started by Zaid Farooqui and team in the form iJigg is just a phenomenal idea. The whole website has such a good look and feel about it and the concept of music sharing across the world by musicians, upcoming talents and people who just want to give it a shot is just amazing. In addition, it also allows the bloggers to embed any music they like into their blog space. An idea which they agree was inspired by youtube.
I have just embedded one of the popular tracks from the site. Like youtube you can add comments and or rate the music by adding jiggs to it. I am sure in days to come this going to be a great success the way youtube is. It already has kicked up with a huge coverage on the blogosphere.
Till then take a seat back and jig the iJigg way.

Rain Rain..go away
The amazing thing about the effect of global warming is that you get to see all possible weathers in a span of two weeks in the part of US that I currently reside in. Just a week back it was snowing in NJ and then from there it moved to nice summer sun-shine and then a nightmare of rain and chilliness for the past two days. The North eastern have got in such torrential rain and there has been major flooding causing disrupts of travel times and huge power cuts.
So you have to possibly take all the detours, to be sure you reach office in good 2-3 hrs for a 45 minutes journey. Well these are the many effects of the huge geographical changes across continents and lets see what future has in store for us.
Well, lets see when the skies open,..till then all there is to say is rain rain ...go away..me and nephew want to play
